Defected in the House Ibiza 2009

Happy Friday hoUSe kitTENs, I've got some brand new music for you today. Let's start off this long holiday weekend right with sweet house tunes.

If you love house music then surely you've heard of the massive partying that goes on in the island of Ibiza. The Defective label has managed to capture that groovey essence in their latest compilation mix cd set. I was bumping this yesterday and woke up with a smile.

Mixed by Copyright, this is essential compilation for the summer featuring the records that will be shaking the White Isle this year. Both mixes feature live percussion from the legendary drum Warrior Shovell. Featuring over 17 tracks exclusive to this compilation from the likes of Dennis Ferrer, ATFC, DJ Gregory, Harry Choo Choo Romero, Sandy Rivera, Armand Van Helden and Copyright themselves.

Now let's get this weekend started and let me see you smile! xoxo

Happy Friday Househeadz!

I woke up this morning to a sunny day in south Florida. It's picture perfect with blue skies, fluffy clouds, and barely a breeze to stir the palm trees in the yard. It's a walk around barefoot type of day. This puts me in the mood for some Caribbean infused house music. The type of drum beat rhythms that make your hips and shoulders sway hypnotically. You know when your body responds naturally without any thought process.

This first joint is a bit different because they added a big dash of CUMBIA up in there. Cumbia is a popular south American, Colombian sound that is distinguished by its use of the accordion. It's in the same vein of music as the award winning song Heater by Samim.

Enjoy this day. Peace & Love

Today's Gem ~ Information Society - Running

Sugarlove, i love you so much i reluctantly stopped in the middle of doing the running man to put up this post. The piece I'm working on has got me in an 'it came from 80's' state of mind. This tune right here, now this tune right here is the jam cause it's so fly to bust out the freestyle dance moves to and you kNOw what I'm saying. Someday I will post a video of me dancing but first i must recieve tons of $$. lol Okay so here's the tune.

INforMAtioN SoCIETy - ruNNing
This joint was released on the Tommy Boy label back in 1986.

Enjoy.
Peace & Love

Dont' Make me Wait 2007

Good morning sugar bunnies, how r u today?
I'm feeling fabu after a morning run in the park to a sound track that started with Season's of Jack and ended with Masters joint Work who's lyrics chanted to me just when i thought i couldn't go any further: put your back in to it, don't waste it, go down, come up. yeah, it was great.

but now its later (i just had to say it that way for reasons known only to the truest donnie darko fans) and I'm listening to this really really great version of Don't Make me Wait. It's amazing how good a song can make you feel. So for this post we're gonna flip it around like a baker with dough (super corny but if u like hip hop dont suck it)and listen to various versions of this amazing (i already used that word didn't i? what's that disease called where u just can't help yourself? i know = it's drinking a huge mug of coffee after running) amazing joint.

Enjoy your day.
Peace & Love

Old School Luv Dancing Remix

Hello Darlings did you miss me? I've been on the road exploring this gorgeous planet of ours. I needed to stretch my soul, move around and change scenery from warm breezy beaches with lapping turquoise waters to crisp chilly air mountain tops, seemingly never ending forests that smell of pine and rumbling white waterfalls that kiss you with plump cold droplets as you get close.

I wanted to be near the clouds and hear the music and rhythms produced from the earth and its creatures. Here's a picture from the sky.

Enjoy this remix of the classic tune titled Luv Dancing by Underground Solution aka Roger Sanchez featuring Jasmine from back in the day 1991.
Peace & LOVE

Brand New Hip Hop Electro House 2009

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, what's going ON baby baby?! While hanging out I heard this joint today and thought of you peeps. I noticed someone searching for a hip house tune the other day and fate has crossed our paths yet again.

It's Timmy Vegas latest release featuring Bad Lay-Dee titled Another Dimension.

The tune reminds me of house music from the early 90's crossed with Daft Punk synth voice overs and elements of Beastie Boys Intergalactic and Crystal Waters Gypsy Woman. I think we will be seeing alot more of this.

Yups plenty of ingredients for a funky lil hit. Enjoy yourself.

I love when artists are smart enough to upload their official videos so I can stream them properly. props for that

Danny Tenaglia ~ Music is the Answer

Happy Friday morning luvlies, how are you?

Florida is covered in an eerie fog blanket this morning so it doesn't feel like I should be up quite yet. It's like leftover crumbs from something mysterious that I'm not supposed to know went down last night . . . anyways I woke up with this song in my head from last night streaming satellite radio from my dish. It's Danny Tenaglia's 1999 release titled Music is the Answer. The tune is still bumpin 10 years later. Danny has been spinning and producing since the early days of House Music and still puts out new music. For now enjoy this tune:

80's Electronica still thumps ~ Kraftwerk

Kraftwerk came together in 1970, yup that's right almost as old as your mama. Florian Schneider on flutes, synthesizers, electro-violin and Ralf Hütter on the electronic organ and synthesizers. The video above is for Musique Non-Stop which came out in 1986. Kraftwerk is one of the first music acts to record using pure electronically processed instruments and sounds exclusively. Many of the vocals in its songs are processed through a vocoder or generated using speech sythesis software. Their lyrics are minimal, usually a knowing caution about the modern world, as well as playing an integral role in the rhythmic structure of the songs. Their latest releases include a 2008 release of their hit Computer Love.

Enoy yourself, rock this joint. I gotta get back to work.

Jackin House ~ Jujubeats

Happy weekend my luvlies, how r u?

I'm in the mood for Something good to listen to.

Something that will move me.

Something different.

Something that'll make me wanna dance.

I found it on the Joey Youngman Jujubeats EP. All four tracks on the album bring the niceness so I recommend you check it out. My personal fav is Truth & Lies but for dancing Binky is the best.

It's a great day for dancing!

Joey Youngman was born in England then relocated to San Luis Obispo, California. He got a taste of the rave scene at very young age of 13 which hand in hand with classical musical training inspired him to produce his own music. In 2004 after years of djing and working with other labels he opened his own called Festish Recordings then later another label called Jackin Tracks (which i just luv btw). Today he is living his dream of producing some of the best House Music jointz.

Classic House Music Playlist 26 tracks from the 80's

Today I'm thinking about old school and classic house music.
I've noticed a rise in interest for everything 80's

but especially of music. During this decade there was an amazing artistic movement. People were experimenting with all sorts of sounds. There were no limits to the imagination and everyone was trying to create something new or at least different from anything else around. It was the decade when hip hop, heavy metal, freestyle, breakbeats and house music were born.
So let's take it back. Here are some
80's House joints that I love very much.

1- Jungle Brothers - Ill House You
2- Can you Feel it

3- Voodoo Ray
4- Todd Terry Bango

Best Electro Electronic Electronica House 2008

Happy New Year Darlings, how are you today? I keep rolling out more top tunes of 2008 lists which is easy considering the many releases last year. I hope you're enjoying them and experimenting with tracks you've never heard of.

Today's list is of the top Electonic House Tunes of 2008, another growing category that kids are latching on to. It feels fun, experimental and futuristic. It reminds me of the 80's experimentation with keyboard sounds. There was also a fascination with the future during the 80's and so much original creativity happened during that period it's no wonder we're still tapping into it for inspiration.

Enjoy yourself darling. It the first weekend of 2009.
